March - April News
08/01/06
In March, eight elderly women have been assisted due to their material lack.
Starting with 31st of March, Mrs. Torok Ana together with her granddaughter, Ana-Maria, have moved to Turda, thus leaving our assisting program.

From the 1st of April 2006 we started the assistance of Mrs. Gyori Gabriela, of 85 years old.

We expected that the first month of spring would give us a fit background for our recreational activities, but it wasn't to be like that. We have waited for the sun rays to caress and warm the souls and the saddened faces, marked by loneliness, lack, illness, but the chilly weather and the rain stood against us. So we equipped ourselves with patience while waiting for a warm spring and we tried to enjoy whatever we succeeded to do in these conditions. This is what we did....
Easter time and 8th of March came with gifts, sweets and fruits, thus bringing joy, value, love and a feeling of belonging to these souls.
Also in this period the elderly ladies have received the visit of our Scottish sponsors, who encouraged them with small souvenirs, money and prayer.
In this way we thank the Lewis clan for their love and we are looking forward to having them with us in the future.

Another happy event for Mrs. Ana Torok and her granddaughter, Ana Maria (who lives with her), was her birthday celebration. She took delight into her gifts, cake, but most of all she was overjoyed by the new shoes she received.

On the 28th of April we celebrated Mrs. Margareta Bercean (who turned 83) and who was also happy for the gifts, the sweets and the love we had for her.

The long awaited for emotional-spiritual support groups could no longer be held, but were replaced with individual emotional-spiritual support meetings. At their request I've read them out of the Bible and we prayed together for their problems, also spoiling them with sweets or cakes.

Other services that were meant to meet their needs were: monthly shoppings at Billa (in this way we secure them with the basics for a month), thing that offers them a feeling of safety and tranquility.

The go-in-betweens with different people or institutions (the Local Council, at the doctor) have helped Mrs. Bercean Margareta, Stefan Ana, Bartha Varvara, Gyori Gabriela to solve some medical, material and social problems.
The weekly shoppings (milk, bread, vegetables).
Paying the bills for them is a useful activity as they are then protected from paying forfeitures.
The company which they enjoy very much and which we sweeten with a piece of cake or fruits, listening to their memories and troubles.
Accompanying them to the doctor for consultation and prescriptions (Stefan Ana, Ilies Melinda).
At the chemist's - drugs acquisitions require time and patience and we gladly invest these for them, but sometimes the medicine prescribed cannot be found and therefore we are forced to request for other foundations' help (Petros) or for the help of some churches that have a chemist's (First Baptist Church). These people help us as they can handle the situation themselves.
We want to thank them in this way also.
The material-financial aid is offered by our foundation according to it's possibilities and to the needs of the assisted persons.
Through all we do we wish to make these souls feel loved and help them look to God, from whom all help comes.

Blessed is he that considereth the poor:
the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
