MAY
In May we had meetings with the teenagers at the Day Centre on a regular base as we usually do. For some of them we had maths and literature tutoring which helped them prepare for the national exam they have to pass in the 8th grade.

With the others we had regular meetings for the personal development group, where we discussed topics like proactivity, responsibility, having personal goals, time management and priorities.

We also trained the older of them to be leaders and volunteers for the Foundation and in general, to be people who see the needs in our society and choose to give a helping hand. We had individual counselling meetings with some of the teenagers who realized the problems they face and have decided to change something about this.
Also during this month, our teenagers had the opportunity ( with the help of New Hope Foundation) to meet a special person. Her name is Grace and she came all the way from USA to share with us her talent to create crafts.
This meeting ment a real opportunity to develop our teenagers through learning and experiencing something new, fun and creative. They had the opportunity to relate with the other teenagers from the Day Centre in a relaxing and fun context. They also had the chance to meet somebody new, from a new culture. At the end of the meeting we all had pizza, juice and cakes.
Another event which happened during this month was the participation at the meetings of the 7th grade students parents. During those parents meetings, we had a presentation of the teenagers project and we began the process of selecting the new teenagers for the year 2007-2008.
