April

April brought us two reasons to be joyful: on one hand, we were happy to welcome the visit of a sponsoring team from Scotland, on the other hand we celebrated Easter. Together with the scottish team, we visited the homes of 8 families assisted in our project. Every family welcomed us happily...

it was beautiful because even though we talk different languages and come from different cultures we could share lovely moments which some of us will never forget. Every family received gifts from our visitors, made pictures together with them, exchanged email adresses (those who have one) etc. Some of the families were visited previously by the same scottish team a year ago, others were visited for the first time. We think it was a lovely experience for the scottish as well, because they were able to see something of the romanian Easter tradition. They were amazed at the painted eggs with different patterns, at the way people are preparing for Easter and it was explained to them that the boys are visiting the girls on this occasion perfuming them in exchange for coloured eggs. The scottish on their part, told us about their customs regarding Easter. It was, as I already mentioned, a great experience.
A meeting with all the ladies assisted ( accompanied by their younger ones, who had a separate room to play in) and the scottish team was organized for Easter, at F.C.Herald. It was a meeting where the ladies could prepare a little speech – about what the Easter mean for them, poems, songs, etc. There also was a short drama about the death and the ressurection of Jesus and at the end of the programme, some of the scottish team talked about their experience: how they met Jesus and what is the biblical significance of Easter. It was a rich meeting in which everyone had something to learn, something to enjoy. At the end of the meeting we had snacks and cake and those who wanted could linger a little bit longer for individual meetings with the others.

Alex, one of the scottish guests, motivated by his love for romanians, sang some songs in romanian.

Livia prepared a poem as a symbol of her gratitude towards God's love.

Singing together "How wonderful it is to be in a family full of love".

Peter prepared with a message about the biblical significance of Easter.

"What can I do with my hands?..." a challange to meditation. Are the things we do motivated by love?

The cake we all enjoyed.
