Food raising for Herald beneficiars, during 29 March-2 April 2010 Cora Supermarket.
VISION

Welcome to the new site of Fundatia de Caritate Herald (FCH), located in Cluj-Napoca. Herald exists since 2001 and its aim is to show the world that God cares for the most vulnerable and helpless among us : single mothers - divorced or widows, their children, teenagers with problems and poor elder ladies.

Our ministry is a social one and through it we wish to be the messengers of God's kindness to the poor. To the people needing help we offer the professional assistance they need in order to overcome the crisis and to learn how to make a healthy, independent living.

Herald's perspective of the assisted person
We believe that man is deeply loved by God, is created in His image. He bears material, social, psychic, emotional and spiritual needs. The problem arises when some of those needs (or all of them) are not being met. Usually, one unsatisfied need affects all the other areas of his life. He may ask for help, but the bottom line is he has to take the responsibility, to do his best for changing the circumstances. We believe, however, that the relationship with God is the one most important thing, that can make him a person of integrity, useful for society.

Herald's perspective of the assistance we offer

Since the assisted person is a physical, psychical, emotional, social and spiritual being, he needs assistance in all of these areas.

We believe that social assistance is to be a process through which the needy person learns how to live by his own, using the resources provided by society (jobs, extended family, church, education given by Herald through weekly and monthly counseling). He needs to understand the reasons that led to the crisis and to take the responsibilities he ignored so far.

The assistance is offered only if the assisted person is willing to acknowledge the need for change and to take actively and constantly part in this process. If the assisted person indulges himself in this situation, the assistance ceases. The beneficiary must be motivated and encouraged to enter this process of changing. If he doesn't want that, we will respect his wish.
The assisting process aims to the integration of the assisted person in society, as an upright, responsible person.

1. We believe in the existence of God, who revealed Himself to us through His Word  - the Bible - in the form of the Holy Trinity : the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. He is the Creator, the Sustainer and the Lord of all things.
2. We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, written through divine inspiration.
3. We believe that Jesus Christ is God. He was incarnated miraculously of the Virgin Mary.
4. We believe that Jesus Christ has lived a perfect, sinless life and has willingly offered Himself as a sacrifice for our sins.
5. We believe that Jesus Christ rose again the third day and ascended into heaven where He sits at the right hand of the Father, as the only mediator between God and man.
6. We believe that man was tempted by the devil and chose to breach God’s command. Therefore, he became sinful and alienated from God.
7. We believe that man cannot be again together with God, but he accepts Jesus Christ’s sacrifice, who died in his place. Through faith and through Christ’s sacrifice, man is saved from the everlasting consequences of the primary sin that separated him from God forever.
8. We believe in the Holy Spirit who came in the world to reveal Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit convinces man that he is sinful and shows him the way to Christ. Likewise, he gives a new life and grace to the ones who follow Him.
9. We believe that Jesus Christ is the head of the Church. The Church is represented by all people who believed and believe in the Lord and follow Him. To be Christian means to follow Christ.
10. We believe there will be a resurrection of the death, followed by a judgment. All who believed in Christ’s sacrifice and lived according to God’s will, will rise again to live forever in the presence of God (Heaven). Those who did not believe will live in the absence of God (Hell).
11.We believe that the Son of God will come again to judge all people. Only God, the Father, knows the moment when His Son will come to judge the world. And everybody will see His coming.
12. We believe that living according to Christian, moral principles asks for a remission of sins and for a life dedicated to God, that is to fulfill His will revealed through the Bible.
13. We believe that living with God implies a personal relationship expressed through prayer, understood through the reading of the Bible and integration in a Christian Church. Prayer is our dialogue with God. The Bible is God’s conversation with man. The Church is the place that God uses to gather people who serve Him and the others in Christian love and teaching. As well, it is the public place where we praise God.
14. We believe that we can and we should guide people bow their lives to God in order to enjoy everything good that comes next: on the one hand, moral, spiritual, physical, emotional and social health, on the other hand, eternal life in the presence of The One who loves us most, our Creator, God All-Mighty.
