DAY CENTER FOR TEENAGERS

Day center for teenagers 2010

Our aim is that the Day Centre could represent a social, emotional, educational, material and spiritual resource for the teenagers, aiming to improve their lifestyle, the living conditions, the results they have in school, the family situation, their self esteem and the abilities they need in the society.

News January - March 2010

At the beginning of this period our meetings aimed to establish some objectives together with the teenagers for the New Year which stand before us and follow them throughout the whole year.

News October - December 2009

In October we had to prepare for our Town Hall the description of the Center's work, of the activities we plan for the next year with the teenagers, of the strategy we are going to use in achieving our goals, in short: a lot of paper work in order to apply for the Town Hall Support.

News August - September 2009

In the month of August the staff from the Day Center was in vacation and we began our work in September with the weekly group meetings with the teenagers.

News April - July 2009

In this period, besides the usual monthly activities (tutoring session, group meetings or individual meetings) we organized a series of recreational activities with the aim of enhancing their self-esteem, their relationship with God and with the others.

News January-March 2009

The first group meeting that we had this year with our teenagers we challenged them to make a personal evaluation of their lives and to set goals for the New Year. Then we discovered together the goals that God had for us.

News News December 2008

In December we organized four leisure activities for our teenagers: attending a piano recital followed by a painting exhibition, making Christmas cards for family and friends, watching an educational movie, attending a Christmas carols concert.Our main event was the Christmas celebration at the Day Center.

In November we celebrated Thanksgiving Day, a time when we had the opportunity to remember and discuss about all the reasons we have to be thankful to God, who blessed our lives with so many blessings and wonders.

A new work year has begun in September and it has brought new challenges from which the greatest were:
1. Taking over in our project new 7th and 8th grade teenagers

After a long time of planning and preparing the transportation, the table menu, volunteers that can help us in camp, choosing the right theme for the camp, daily discussion questions, games, songs, surprises, shopping, we finally got to enjoy the camp, in Rusesti, Marisel,

News May-June 2008

In May we continued our assistance by meeting with the teenagers at the support groups, at the tutoring classes for Romanian language and literature, mathematics and English classes, and recreational activities.

News April 2008

During this month, in the collaboration with other workers from the Pro-Vita Clinic, we began a sexual education program with the purpose of informing and preventing early and unwanted sexual behaviour, which has harmful effects on the lives of the assisted teenagers

News January-March 2008

In this period the activity at the Day Center for Teenagers was as we were used to in the last time, by meeting with them at the support groups, at the tutoring classes and other activities.
