We are a Charity settled in Cluj-Napoca, in March 2001. Seven trustees have agreed to come together and get involved in the society we live in and help those in need. Our hearts go out for the widow and the orphan.
To be able to accomplish this need we have seen in Cluj, we tried and succeeded o buy a house, which is thus the property of the foundation. It is here we have our offices and also the counseling rooms, the day-center for children and where Herald activity takes place.
We have10 employees (varying from year to year) doing social assistance or administration work . Yearly we assists somewhere between 80 and 90 persons, throughout all the three projects we have and which are mentioned below.
Our Vision
On the assisted person
We believe that the people are creations of God, loved by Him and made in His image. They have material, social, emotional and spiritual needs . The problems come out when one or more of these needs are not met. It usually happens that an unfulfilled need can cause problems in all the other areas of life. The people may ask for help to solve or to find out ways to cope with their problems, but they have to learn to take responsibility to do anything they can to change the situation they are in. We believe that what will help the needy people to recover and become healthy members of our society is the beginning and the maintaining of a relationship with our Creator – God.
On the assistance offered
Because the assisted is a physical, emotional, social and spiritual being he/she needs assistance in all these areas.
We believe that the assistance should be a process by which the dependent person enters in order to learn how to live independently using the resources the society makes available ( jobs, the extended family, church, education, counseling). It is necessary for them (the assisted people) to understand and realize the reasons that caused their problematic situation and to be ready to take the responsibilities they neglected until now.
The assistance is given only if the person in need realizes the changes that need to take place and participates at these changes in thinking and behavior. In case the needy person doesn't agree to change anything and is not ready to make any efforts to change, the assistance is not offered. The needy person has to be motivated and encouraged to enter this changing process. In case he/she doesn't want to, his/her wish will be respected.
The assistance aims the reintegration of the assisted person in the society.

Future Plans
1. FUNDATIA DE CARITATE HERALD is planning to build an attic on top of the building which already exists on Str. Magaziei 20.
We need to enlarge our building because we are constantly short of space. This enlargement will provide with counseling rooms and also more space for our present work, but in the same time we want to enlarge the foundation's commercial activities in order to be able to self sustain ourselves more and depend less on the others.

2. FUNDATIA DE CARITATE HERALD, as a response to the need of the Romanian society in Cluj, is planning for the long term future the following:
- an elderly permanent house
- a foster house for both parents orphaned children (especially those with a high intellectual abilities)
